C J Bourne (Asset Management) Limited, the ultimate holding company of the Seabourne Group of Companies, was founded in 1962 by Clive Bourne as an operating company in the freight forwarding industry.
Since its beginning, the Company has expanded and flourished into a conglomerate of companies operating in courier, freight forwarding, duty free and airport sales, packaging and refurbishment.
Clive, who was knighted in 2006 for services to charity and education, would have been proud of the organisation he originated seeing it continue its progress by acquiring the majority shares of the Air Action companies in 2008, financed from within its own resources.
The Group also has property interests as shown in the holding company’s Balance Sheet. The Company’s directors are Lady Joy Bourne – Clive’s widow, Don Hayes – who joined the Group in 1983 and Merryl Flitterman, Katie Cohen, Lucy Furman and Claire Lefton – daughters of Clive and Joy.
